GeoEstimation is a tool for estimating the geolocation of photos. Users select an image from a predefined benchmark test set and click a world map to make a guess. Results are shown as a heat map of likely locations and a visualization of contributing photo parts, alongside scene classification probabilities for indoor, nature and urban settings.
Picarta uses AI to predict where a photo was taken, returning estimated GPS coordinates, city, and country with confidence scores. It analyzes visual clues in the image rather than relying on EXIF metadata or embedded GPS tags. The project offers a web app and an API, with on-premise deployment for enterprise clients.
OpenStego is a free steganography tool written in pure Java. It provides data hiding, which hides data within a cover file such as an image, and beta watermarking, which embeds an invisible signature to detect unauthorized file copying. It supports password-based encryption with AES 128 and AES 256 and a plugin architecture.
darktable is an open source photography workflow application and raw developer. It manages digital negatives in a database, provides a zoomable lighttable view, and develops raw images non-destructively. It runs on Linux, Mac OS X, BSD, Windows and Solaris, and is released under GPL 3.0.
Image forensics tool for checking metadata, compression artifacts, and possible photo manipulation clues.
Jimpl is an online EXIF metadata viewer for photos and images. Users upload a photo, view recorded metadata such as date, time, camera settings and GPS coordinates, and can download the photo with EXIF data removed. Uploads are limited to 50 MB and photos are deleted after 24 hours.
