VLSub is a VLC extension for downloading subtitles from opensubtitles.org. Users install vlsub.lua into VLC's extensions directory, then search by hash or by name and download a subtitle file for the playing video. The README notes it does not work on VLC 2.1 and recommends using VLC 2.0 or 2.2.
