electricsheep.org
Electric Sheep is a collaborative abstract artwork founded by Scott Draves, run by people worldwide through a distributed client. When computers sleep, the software creates morphing abstract animations called sheep, shared over the internet; viewers may vote for favorites, driving a genetic algorithm that evolves the flock. It is described as a free and open source service, with HD Gold Sheep offered as a premium version.
