Alternate File Shredder is a Windows program that deletes files and folders so that recovery is not possible. It can also overwrite free space on a drive, so already deleted files cannot be restored. Users can choose how overwriting is done, using a specific value, random values or a file content as a template. It is freeware/open source and requires the .NET framework 2.0.
