It archives and publishes marine-related datasets, with collections covering remotely sensed satellite ocean observations, ship-based hydrographic cruise data, and time series data from weather stations and oceanographic moorings.
GRID-Geneva is a data and analytics centre established by the United Nations Environment Programme in 1985. A team of 20 environment data scientists transforms data into actionable information and knowledge to support decision-making on environmental and social issues. It operates open-source platforms and collaborates with UN agencies, governments and environmental conventions.
The Tropical Ecology Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) Network, originally a partnership of Conservation International, the Wildlife Conservation Society, and the Smithsonian Institution, uses standardized methods to collect near-real-time data on biodiversity, climate, and land-cover change at 17 sites across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It aims to establish an early warning system. The network is migrating to Wildlife Insights.
