Dataset & Data Search
Dataset search tools help you find open data, research collections and public records from many fields. Listings include catalogues, repositories and portals from governments, universities, labs and open projects. Some cover one subject closely, such as genomics, climate or satellite imagery, while others gather datasets across many areas and add filters, previews and download notes. Compare a few side by side and look at the licence, the update date and the file formats offered, since two portals that look alike can carry very different terms. Check whether a catalogue links to the original data or hosts its own copy, because the source usually explains provenance and any limits on reuse.
Find and access astrophysics and astronomy research data, with indexed geospatial data.
The International Genome Sample Resource maintains and shares human genetic variation resources built by the 1000 Genomes Project. It updates these resources to the current reference assembly, adds new data sets from project samples, and includes data from other openly consented samples. Data sets are explored through a data portal, and a public API queries samples, populations, data collections, analysis groups and files.
4DMED-Sea is a project funded by the European Space Agency under contract 4000141547/23/I-DT. It covers case studies on ocean fronts and phytoplankton, the Mediterranean seascape, and Lagrangian connectivity and fisheries, and contributes toward a digital twin of the ocean for the Mediterranean Sea.
4TU.ResearchData is an international data repository for science, engineering and design. It offers research dataset curation, sharing, long-term access and preservation services, plus training and community engagement resources for research and research-support professionals. The repository provides browse and discovery functions across institutions, subjects and latest datasets.

The Aberdeen Birth Cohorts are groups followed by the University of Aberdeen: children born in Aberdeen in 1921, 1936, and 1950-1956. Childhood reading and mental ability test results have been linked to health and social information to study questions about aging, mental health, and dementia. Participants born in 1921 and 1936 have been invited back for studies, and similar research is being started for the 1950s group.
