It pools and standardises data, applies strict privacy controls to pseudo-anonymise data, shares data responsibly and maintains gold standard data repositories for a range of infectious diseases including malaria, COVID-19, Ebola and antimicrobial resistance. It also provides data access guidelines and related resources for users.

IRIS has merged with UNAVCO to form EarthScope Consortium.
OceanRep is an open access digital collection holding the research output of GEOMAR staff and students, with an additional archive of papers on marine sciences. It includes journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, theses and cruise reports, with fulltext where available. It is managed by the GEOMAR Library, supports OAI 2.0, and offers browsing and simple or advanced search without an account.
