YARA is a tool aimed at helping malware researchers identify and classify malware samples. It creates descriptions of malware families, called rules, based on textual or binary patterns; each rule consists of strings and a boolean expression. YARA is multi-platform, running on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, and can be used via its command-line interface or from Python scripts with the yara-python extension.
yq is a lightweight, portable command-line processor for YAML, JSON, INI and XML files, written in Go. It uses jq-like syntax and also supports processing CSV, TSV, properties, HCL, LUA, TOML, KYAML and shell output. It supports the most common jq operations, with additional functionality being added continuously. Dependency-free binaries are available for multiple platforms, and installation via various package managers is supported.
Zellij is a terminal workspace described as a terminal multiplexer, aimed at developers and terminal users. It offers out-of-the-box experience, deep customizability, layouts, multiplayer collaboration, floating and stacked panes, and a WebAssembly plugin system. It includes a built-in web-client. It can be installed through an OS package, a prebuilt binary or cargo.
ZeroClaw is an agent runtime distributed as a single Rust binary that users configure and run. It connects to LLM providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI and Ollama, reaches users through channels including Discord, Telegram, Matrix, email, voice and webhooks, and acts through tools including shell, browser, HTTP, hardware and custom MCP servers. A quickstart command performs one-shot setup to pick a provider and write a working config.
ZincSearch is a search engine that provides full text indexing capability. It ships as a single binary with an embedded web UI for querying data, and offers compatibility with Elasticsearch APIs for data ingestion and Elasticsearch DSL for querying. It is schema-less, with authentication and aggregation and highlight support. The project is in Pre GA status.
ZombAIs is a blog post about a demonstration in which Claude Computer Use, an Anthropic beta feature that lets Claude control a computer via screenshots and bash commands, was targeted with a prompt injection attack. The post describes crafting a malicious web page to have Claude download a binary and execute it, connecting to a Sliver command and control server.
