Shizuku lets apps use system APIs directly with higher privileges than a shell, without a root shell. It supports adb usage so root-required apps needing only adb permission can reach more users. The project provides documentation to guide users and states that setup involves additional steps such as checking permissions and whether Shizuku is running.
Eternal Terminal is a remote shell that automatically reconnects without interrupting the session. It uses ssh to initialize the connection, and unlike ssh a session can survive network outages and IP roaming. It maintains a tmux session even when the TCP connection dies and resumes quickly. It was heavily inspired by ssh, autossh and mosh.
Oh My Posh is a prompt engine for shells, with one configuration intended to work across PowerShell, Bash, Zsh, Fish, Nu and others on Windows, macOS, Linux, WSL, containers and SSH. It is written in Go, and its segments run concurrently and cache results so prompts render in milliseconds. Around 120 segments cover git status, cloud context, language versions and system metrics.
