WebChucK IDE is a web-based integrated development environment for ChucK, a programming language for real-time sound synthesis and music creation. It is presented as accessible for building, experimenting with and sharing audio synthesis and analysis programs and real-time interactive music. The interface includes a file explorer, find-in-files, code editor, output and shred controls.
EXP Soundboard is a soundboard application that supports almost all MP3s and WAVs. Sounds can be triggered with custom keyboard hot-keys and played through up to two outputs. It includes a Mic Injector to route microphone audio into a virtual audio cable and a converter tool for audio files. A Java 7 requirement is noted.

Cardinal is a free and open-source virtual modular synthesizer plugin based on VCV Rack. It is available in AudioUnit, CLAP, LV2, VST2 and VST3 plugin formats and as a standalone app for FreeBSD, Linux, macOS, Windows and the Web. It is self-contained and does not load external modules. It includes 1382 modules from 84 authors and brands.

sforzando is a free SFZ player that supports the open SFZ format. It has a single instrument slot and no fancy UI, effects or mixers, so every tweak must be made at the SFZ file level. SF2, DLS and acidized WAV files dropped on the interface are converted to SFZ 2.0. It runs as a standalone application and as VST3, CLAP and AAX plug-ins on Windows and macOS.
