Search tool for finding Reddit posts and comments by keyword, subreddit, or user.
A page from Aware Online Academy presenting custom OSINT search tools for investigating Reddit. It describes searching by author, post, title, subreddits, flairs, URLs and NSFW items, and states that no Reddit account is needed to use the tools.
Reddit Archive is a site for browsing banned subreddits and user profiles using the Pushshift API. Its search forms support special characters, comma-separated subreddits, exclusion with !, and score or comment comparisons. By default it returns 100 posts, the maximum. Sorting by score is often unreliable because Pushshift does not store scores for many items.
SubHarbor is a tool that helps subreddit moderators create backup landing pages with links to alternative platforms, so communities remain reachable if a subreddit is removed or faces API disruptions. Moderators sign in with Reddit and add links to services such as Discord and Lemmy. SubHarbor also offers a public JSON API for fetching a subreddit's links.
RDX for Reddit is a mobile web viewer for Reddit described as inspired by the closed Apollo app. It offers a mobile-friendly reader with multiple dark and light themes and browsing without ads, along with settings and the ability to subscribe to subreddits. Apps for iPhone and Android are offered for download.
Reddit Fix is a user script for reddit.com that hides subreddits and removes promoted links. It shows full images and tweets, provides an HTML5 video player, removes background effects on rewarded comments, and adds a custom peach-icon menu. The script targets the new Reddit design and limits topics in the DOM while scrolling.
Newsit is a browser extension, available for Chrome and Firefox, that displays the top voted Reddit or Hacker News discussion for the page being viewed in the corner of the screen. It reads the current URL and queries the Reddit and Hacker News APIs, and the extension is free.
