An interactive map showing about 200,000 galaxies with their actual position and color, from the Milky Way to the edge of the observable Universe. It was created from 15 years of Sloan Digital Sky Survey data by B. Ménard and N. Shtarkman at Johns Hopkins University. The visualization shows a thin slice of the Universe about 10 degrees thick.
SolarHam is a space weather and aurora website founded in 2006. It provides real time data and new updates, including solar indices, imagery, flare probabilities and geomagnetic forecasts. Its help center explains space weather terms such as coronal holes, coronal mass ejections and geomagnetic storms, and notes that the section is being built.
Nasahubble is an educational resource for documentaries, courses, books, reference material, or self-learning.
TheCMB is a WebGL visualization of raw data from the Planck mission showing intensity fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background. The data is tiled over a sphere using the Healpix scheme, with up to 50 million pixels at the highest resolution, and the view can be controlled with the mouse and keyboard.
SpaceSim is a free 3D space simulator that runs in a browser. It offers travel across the Solar System, time changes, source-backed worlds and postcards, along with journeys such as a grand tour of the Solar System, an ISS trajectory view and a procedural stellar laboratory for known stellar objects.
WikiSky.org is an interactive online sky map presenting itself as an interactive sky map. The site links to sections including Getting Started, Inhabited Sky, News@Sky, an astro photo forum, a blog, a FAQ, a press page and an API.
Rgvaerialphotos is an educational resource for documentaries, courses, books, reference material, or self-learning.
