cnnix-steership
cnnix-steership is an interactive web simulation that allows users to navigate a ship through the Suez Canal. The experience was developed with input from Master Mariner Andy Winbow and Captain Yash Gupta as advisers, and is intended as a non-scientific simplified illustrative experience. Users control ship parameters including rudder angle and engine power, and respond to wind condition alerts to traverse the canal. The simulation does not account for many real-world navigation factors including water depth, proximity to banks, passing ship interactions, tug boat availability, and visibility, and maneuvering time is sped up for the experience.
