Awesome Android Security is a code project with source, releases, documentation, or setup notes.
Exodus is a privacy audit platform for Android applications. It analyzes applications to list embedded trackers, which it describes as software intended to collect data about a user or their usages. Users can search for a report by application name, handle or Google Play URL, and reports show tracker and permission counts. The site states that it does not decompile applications and that its analysis method is legal.
NetGuard is a firewall app for Android that provides simple and advanced ways to block access to the internet per app, with no root required. It allows applications and addresses to be individually allowed or denied access to Wi-Fi and mobile connections.
Intra is an Android app that encrypts connections to public DNS servers to protect against DNS manipulation, a cyber attack used to block access to news sites, social media platforms and messaging apps. It helps protect against phishing and malware, and lets users customize their DNS server provider, including using their own server or providers such as Cloudflare or Google.
RethinkDNS is a DNS resolver that encrypts queries using DNS over HTTPS or DNS over TLS, with custom rules, blocklists and analytics. It supports over 190 blocklists and servers in more than 300 locations. A companion Android app bundles a firewall for monitoring and controlling app internet access.
TrackerControl is an open-source Android app that helps users understand and control tracking in apps. It uses Android's VPN functionality to inspect network traffic locally, requiring no root and sending no personal data to an external server by default. It can block trackers and ads with selectable blocking modes and inspect tracker libraries in app code. A separate iOS research website shows which tracking software is embedded in apps.
Keyoxide Mobile is a Flutter application for the Keyoxide project, which lets people prove ownership of online accounts and domains and link them into a decentralized online identity. A profile shows a green tick next to proven accounts. The repository includes Android, iOS, Linux and Flatpak builds.
