Amnezia is an open-source tool for creating a self-hosted VPN on the user's own server. It supports protocols including OpenVPN, WireGuard, AmneziaWG and Xray Reality, with split tunneling, kill switch and import or export of connection settings. The app is free; only the VPS server is paid for separately. It is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux.
Outline is a tool for creating and running a personal VPN server. It consists of Outline Manager, a desktop application for setting up a server and sharing access keys, and Outline Client, an app for connecting to the server on mobile or desktop. Outline is open source and designed to be resistant to blocking, including DNS, content, and IP blocking.
Scramjet is an interception-based web proxy made by Mercury Workshop, intended to evade internet censorship and bypass browser restrictions. It is distributed as an npm package with setup instructions involving a service worker, BareMux transport and the ScramjetController, and CI builds are available.
WG Tunnel is an open-source client for WireGuard and AmneziaWG. It locks down traffic before resolving endpoints, so protection is immediate, and includes features such as a kill switch, auto-tunneling, multihop, split and encrypted DNS, and a local proxy mode. Native apps are available for Android and desktop. A separate optional kill switch blocks traffic outside the tunnel.
tinc is a Virtual Private Network daemon that uses tunnelling and encryption to create a secure private network between hosts on the Internet. It is Free Software under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later, offering optional compression, automatic full mesh routing, NAT traversal, and support for IPv6.
Documentation for installing and configuring the Outline knowledge base across various environments. It notes that Outline is engineered as a horizontally scalable cloud platform requiring dev-ops experience to install and run in production. Community edition support is via GitHub discussions, while Enterprise and Business edition users contact their account manager.
A rentry guide explaining how to use Cloudflare's WARP through WireGuard instead of Cloudflare's closed-source application. It describes creating a WARP account with wgcf, generating a profile, importing it into WireGuard, and offers tips for Android-TV and Linux setups.
