Mods and add-ons covers player-made changes that extend or adjust a game you already own. Entries include mod managers, texture and gameplay packs, server tools, and community patch projects for older titles. The first thing to check is the game version each mod expects, because compatibility often breaks when a game updates and a mod that worked last year may not load now. Compare how a mod is installed and removed, whether it needs a script extender or a specific loader, and how the author handles bug reports. Each author sets their own licence for their work, and some ask before you reuse assets in your own release.
